A 2019 architect-built contemporary on the north slope of Queen Anne, in the last small parcel of unbuilt blufftop on the hill. The architect — local, well-known, not credit-seeking — designed it for the owners with the understanding that they would sell it within a decade. The result is a house that solves for views, light, and a long commitment to quiet materials: rift-sawn white oak, blackened steel, lime-washed plaster, polished concrete on the lower level.

Three bedrooms upstairs, a primary suite with a private deck that opens to the view, a fourth bedroom and a media room on the lower level. The kitchen is the working room of the house: a single ten-foot island in honed Carrara, La Cornue range, integrated panel-front everything.
